Refreshingly sweet with a delicious mint flavor, learning how to make spearmint tea is a must this summer! It’s made with only 2 simple ingredients and is the perfect healthy treat.

When I was growing up, my grandma had a patch of spearmint tea in her garden, and she always made sure to make a big batch of spearmint iced tea every spring and summer holiday. While I don’t remember what was served for the meals at those holiday gatherings, I definitely remember her tea.
Looking back, I know her tea was full of caffeine and sugar, so this is my own version made with only fresh spearmint and sweetened with honey. It still has all of the delicious, fresh flavor of Grandma’s classic iced tea, and it’ll continue to be a summer favorite for years to come.
Why You’ll Love this Recipe
Refreshing drink – This is the ultimate cold drink to enjoy on a warm spring or summer day!
2-ingredients – All you need is honey and fresh spearmint leaves (and some water)!
Refined sugar free – Honey is one of my favorite natural sweeteners, and it adds a wonderful richness to the spearmint flavor.
Simple recipe – It only takes a few easy steps to make your own classic spearmint tea!

Tips for Success
Don’t skimp on the spearmint – More is almost always better than less! Spearmint tends to be a little milder in flavor than other types of mint, so it’s especially important to use the full amount this recipe calls for.
Steep between 15 and 20 minutes – If you don’t steep the tea long enough, the flavor will be too mild. On the other hand, if you let it go too long, it will become bitter.
Add the honey after cooling – This recipe uses raw honey, so it should be added only once the tea has cooled to a drinkable temperature.
Add ice last minute – Melted ice will water the tea down, so make sure to add it only right before drinking.
