Candied pecans have always been a favorite in my family. I grew up making them, and at times when I was really busy, my husband would buy them from Costco.

Recently I made candied pecans on the stovetop, and it’s my new favorite way to make them. It’s so quick and easy we’ll never have to buy them from the store again!

My whole family gave these pecans rave reviews! They’re so much better (and cheaper) than the store-bought nuts, and they’re made with high-quality natural ingredients.

Pecan halves

Coconut sugar – This is my favorite natural granulated sweetener. However, you could use brown sugar or white sugar instead.

How to Make Stovetop Candied Pecans without Egg

In a medium saucepan, stir together the coconut sugar, spices, vanilla, salt, and water over medium heat.

Continue heating, stirring frequently, until the mixture begins to bubble.

Next, stir in the pecans.

Continue to stir the mixture frequently until the pecans have been coated with all of the sugar mixture and there is hardly any at the bottom of the pan.

Spread out the pecans on parchment paper and let them cool completely before breaking them apart.

  • 1 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, stir together the coconut sugar, spices, vanilla, salt, and water over medium heat.
  2. When the mixture begins to bubble, stir in the pecans.
  3. Continue to stir the mixture frequently until the pecans have been coated with all of the sugar mixture and there is hardly any at the bottom of the pan.
  4. Spread out the pecans on parchment paper and let them cool completely before breaking them apart.

Notes
