Easy and full of rich flavor, baked figs make for a special fall or winter side dish. They only take a few simple ingredients and are ready to serve in less than half an hour!

My mom has a couple of large fig bushes, so this time of year we have all the figs we could ask for! I love using them in recipes like gluten-free fig bars, fig Dutch baby, and these baked figs.
Out of all my favorite fig recipes though, this one has to be the easiest!
Making and photographing this recipe was on my to-do list when I unexpectedly went into labor with our son a week early. With contractions only a few minutes apart, I quickly got this in the oven, and we enjoyed this as a delicious snack after he was born.

Ingredients
Fresh figs – Fresh figs are delicate and spoil quickly. They won’t continue to ripen properly once they’re picked, so it’s best to buy them ripe and use them within a few days. If you pick them yourself, you should have a little over a week to use them if they’re stored in the fridge.
Coconut oil – Melted. You can substitute butter if you prefer.
Spices – Use quality spices without additives for the best flavor and nutrition.
Step-By-Step Instructions
First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Then, remove any stems from the figs and slice them in half. Place them cut side up in the baking dish.

Now evenly drizzle the melted coconut oil and spices over them. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and place the figs in the oven for 18-20 minutes or until they’re soft and cooked through.

Finally, remove the figs from the oven and serve immediately by themselves or paired with fun toppings or dessert!
