Due to Crohn’s disease, my husband has to stick to a pretty strict clean eating diet. While most people are able to occasionally enjoy junk food, he’s not able to tolerate things like that very well.

Because of that, it’s my goal to create clean versions of classic foods and drinks without sacrificing flavor. Whether it’s oat flour chocolate cupcakes or healthy homemade ice cream, I truly believe that eating clean can be easy and so delicious!

Why You’ll Love this Recipe

Rich lemon flavor – This lemonade doesn’t skimp on flavor and the coconut sugar adds a wonderful richness to the drink.

Simple, natural ingredients – There’s nothing artificial in this recipe!

No heating required – The coconut sugar dissolves perfectly in the lemon juice – no need to take time to heat it.

Quick and easy – It’s the perfect last-minute summer treat!

Tips for Success

Use fresh lemons – While you can use bottled lemon juice, fresh lemons taste so much better! Bottled lemon juice also typically has artificial preservatives added to it.

Leave in some pulp – Lemon pulp has great flavor, so I like to put some of it in the lemonade along with the juice.

Add lemon slices – If you have extra lemons, slice them up and add to the lemonade. Not only will it make for a great presentation, but it will also add a little more delicious citrus flavor.

Chill before serving – Lemonade is best served cold, so make sure it’s had time to chill in the fridge before serving. If you’re in a hurry, simply serve with plenty of ice.

Add ice last minute – This helps avoid the ice melting and diluting the pitcher of lemonade.
