Tips for Success
Don’t drain the fat – You don’t want to lose all that delicious flavor! Besides, fat-free is no longer considered the healthiest choice.
Use rich broth – Homemade bone broth gives this dish a richness and depth of flavor you can’t mimic with store-bought ingredients. However, if you don’t have any, it’s still delicious with store-bought broth or even water.
Let it simmer – It’s delicious served right away, but if you have a few extra minutes to let it simmer, the flavors will become richer and more complex.
Violet’s Tips for Serving
For the ultimate comfort food meal, serve this dish over brown rice or soaked quinoa. It also helps it go a little further, making for delicious leftovers!
