Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium cabbage head shredded
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 14.5 cans of diced tomatoes
  • 1 15 ounce can of tomato sauce
  • 1 cup bone broth
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • In a large sauté pan, brown the meat and onion over medium heat.

  • Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, bone broth, paprika, salt, and pepper and bring to a slow simmer.

  • Place the shredded cabbage on top (don't stir) and place the lid on the pan. Cook until the cabbage begins to wilt, approximately 8 minutes.

  • Remove the lid and stir the cabbage into the rest of the mixture.
  • Simmer on low heat until you're ready to serve.

Notes

Substitutions

  • Ground beef - substitute ground turkey or pork
  • Cabbage head - substitute 2 bags of coleslaw mix
  • Bone broth - substitute regular beef broth or water 

Store

  • Refrigerate up to 5 days
  • Freeze 2-3 months
