Ingredients

  • 12 eggs
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese sliced
  • 2 cups milk
  • 6 slices toasted bread
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper divided

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
  • Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet and season with 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, sage, paprika, and garlic powder.

  • Place the toast in the bottom of a 9" x 13" baking dish and layer the cheese slices on top.
    6 slices toasted bread, 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and then stir in the browned meat and onions.

  • Pour the egg mixture into the baking dish over the bread and cheese.
  • OPTIONAL: For optimum flavor and texture, cover and place in the fridge overnight or up to 24 hours and then let the pan come to room temperature before baking. If you don't have enough time, you can bake immediately.
  • Bake for 50 minutes. Enjoy!
