In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil over high heat.
1 quart water
Remove from the heat and stir in the peppermint leaves.
2 cups fresh peppermint leaves
Cover the pot and allow the tea to steep for 15-20 minutes.
Pour the tea through a mesh strainer to remove the leaves.
Allow the tea to cool to a drinkable temperature and stir in the honey.
1/4 cup honey
Serve your homemade peppermint tea hot or chill and serve iced.
Notes
To avoid weak or bitter tea, make sure to steep for 15-20 minutes.
To keep the honey raw, wait to add it until the tea has cooled to a drinkable temperature. Depending on your desired sweetness, feel free to use more or less.
If you're serving this tea cold, add the ice last-minute to avoid watering it down.
